But the real issue is that a company like blizzard spent resources making a game that would be successful due to whales spending a ton of money on a game and not that the game is actually good. It's an opportunity to play the game as intended by spending massive amounts of money or struggling through the game at a lesser rate. ![]() Some are still obtainable through extreme luck or intense grinding, but there are some things that require the player to put money into the game to obtain things that may be very beneficial to progression in the game. However content has been barred behind pay walls in Diablo immortal. P2W has very much become a blanket statement even if there isn't any winning involved. I just hit paragon 1 and finished the main story, and still having a blast. It'd be one thing if they said I could only run one rift per day without paying for more, but all the "P2W" aspects I see is guaranteeing rare drops, which is something I'd never want to spend money on - the grind is what Diablo is all about. Does it kill PvP? Sure, but since when was Diablo a PvP game anyway? So what if a whale comes in and spends $100,000 to get a max char in 2 hours only to quit in a week because there's nothing else to do? Blizzard gets money to improve the game, and us F2P players get more content. Once you do that, there's nothing else to do - that's why D3 has seasonal and you start over every time. Sure, you get everything and max out, but then what? The entire point of diablo is to max out your char and get the best gear. Paying to win a diablo game is like playing to win an adventure game. I really don't understand the "Win" part of pay to win. ![]()
